About String Theory . . .
Josi Davis -
I’m enchanted the tracks are so present. That I am once again in the room with Chris and Mike, as a listener, experiencing each tune, and even the inhalations, the snaps, the smiles, the fingers on the strings. I’m transported to the provenance. Each song a moment we three shared completely - symbiotically - giving into the muse. A record of the tracks when we all look at each other as the last chord fades and grin,
“That was the one.”
Mike Frishman -
Being there was only three of us, I had to lay down the time but with lots of
freedom. I was experiencing interplay, intimacy, melodic and harmonic colors that could only be produced by Vocals, Acoustic Guitar and Bass. The elevated level of musical inventiveness and intuition that emanated from Josi and Chris was amazing and I felt our musical styles blending well through every track.
Mike played an Upton Bass Hawkes Model.
Chris Leigh -
String Theory, simply put, is an idea that envisions our universe as being composed of oscillating strings. From their vibrations, all matter is born. This recording documents our three
stringed instruments (Guitar, Bass, and Vocal Chords), coalescing to create a sympathetic musical
rendering of twelve standard tunes.
Chris played a Dauphin Classical Guitar.

The artwork of SHELBY HEAD is at once both satisfying and mysterious. Based on musical structure and
improvisation, it lends a unique visual interpretation to the concept of notes and musical structure.
